The 2015 Chevy Sonic Earned NHTSA 5-Star Rating

The National Highway Traffic Safety Association awards the 2015 Chevrolet Sonic sedan and hatchback the 5-star overall safety rating and five stars in the side and front crash tests. 2015 Sonic includes the following standard safety equipment: antilock brakes, electronic stability control, and 10 airbags. Safety-minded shoppers should take note of the 2015 Chevrolet Sonic hatchback and sedan, which recently received the 5-star overall safety rating from the National Highways Traffic Safety Administration.  It beats out two comparable vehicles in its class--the 2015 Ford Fiesta and the Kia Rio which received only four star safety ratings. The Sonic earned five stars in both the side and front crash tests while earning four stars in the rollover crash test. Contributing to its respectable safety rating is the standard safety equipment, which includes electronic stability control, 10 airbags, and antilock brakes. The brand also offers two optional crash-avoidance systems on all models except the base model--the lane departure warning and the forward collision alert. Some models, such as the LT, LTZ, Dusk, and RS,  also offer a rearview camera. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has yet to rate the 2015 Chevy Sonic.

2014 Chevy Volt is a Top Safety Pick +

The 2014 Chevrolet Volt has been recognized with a Top Safety Pick + rating by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).  The 2014 Volt was the only small car in its segment to earn this impressive rating in the latest round of IIHS safety testing, thus putting the model firmly ahead of its competitors in terms of safety. The 2014 Volt earned a “good’ rating in four of the six categories for the small overlap crash test, the most difficult of all of IIHS’s head-on based tests. Additionally, the 2014 Volt received an “acceptable” rating in the structural category. “These outstanding results demonstrate our commitment to the highest levels of safety performance in our vehicles,” said Jeff Boyer, vice president of GM Global Vehicle Safety. ”Achieving the IIHS Top Safety Pick + is a key endorsement which is valued by our customers.” The 2014 Chevy Volt is available at Galles Chevrolet where we serve Albuquerque, Los Lunas, Moriarty and Santa Fe, NM.
