MOTOR TREND names 2015 Chevy Colorado as Truck of the Year

MOTOR TREND has officially named the 2015 Chevy Colorado as the 2015 Truck of the Year. Possibly the most exciting part of this announcement is that the Colorado was chosen as the winner by a rare unanimous vote. The Truck of the Year program is only open to all-new or significantly updated trucks and vans for the upcoming model year. To determine a winner the MOTOR TREND test teams subjects all entries to three stages of real-world road tests, starting with; 0-60 mph and ¼-mile acceleration, 60-0 mph braking and maximum lateral grip. After the initial test, a specific payload was then added to each vehicle and they were each driven more than 250 miles to the Arizona/Nevada border, to establish ride quality and loaded fuel economy. Lastly, the team moved to a special grounds for instrumented acceleration tests with nominal weight trailers and driven through a short course. “After days of testing, hundreds of miles on the road, and our most rigorous truck testing program to date, our editors unanimously selected the Chevy Colorado as our 2015 Truck of the Year,” said Edward Loh, MOTOR TREND’s editor-in-chief. “Colorado is a smart, capable, and refreshingly honest truck that makes a strong value and efficiency statement. It’s perfectly sized and suited for the needs of many of today’s truck users.” If you’re interested in getting in a new 2015 Chevy Colorado and you live near Albuquerque, Los Lunas, Moriarty or Santa Fe, NM then go online and schedule a test drive with Galles Chevrolet today!

EcoTec3 Engine a Result of 60 Years of Improvement

When asking customers what they look for in a truck, dependability is near or at the top of their list. Chevrolet is always trying to improve on the current technology to make a better product for the Chevy truck drivers. Over the past 60 years, and 100 million engines, Chevy engineers have had the opportunity to incorporate dependability and technology together to make great engines. “Silverado is from the family of the most dependable, longest lasting full-size pickups on the road,” said John Fitzpatrick, Silverado marketing manager. “Our latest generation of Small Block engines help customers save money at the pump with engines that have been improved and by real-world experience.” The latest improvement is their EcoTec3 engines, which include new advanced technology that will save consumers money but will still deliver the performance they need. One of the ways this balance is achieved is with the Active Fuel Management System. This allows the V6 or V8 engine to run at full capacity when you are using your truck for towing, hauling or otherwise working and then essentially deactivate cylinders when you aren’t.

A new series of videos featuring the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado has been released by Chevrolet in order to highlight the different types of groups that would be intrigued by this model. The second shows a series of different focus groups discussing what they love about trucks and the third shows a guy getting an impressive increase in hits on his profile once Chevrolet “Trucked It Up”. “The films are centered around the idea that there is an inner truck guy in everyone,” said Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet marketing. “The game-changing Chevrolet Colorado will enable people to unleash their inner truckness.  For many there are rational barriers to consideration, does it meet my need for features and refinement, will I sacrifice safety?  The Colorado removes those barriers by offering the capabilities of a pickup with the technology and “stuff” customers want and need.” Check out the videos below to see all three for yourself: “Truck Guy” Deodorant: Focus Groups: “Truck Up” Your Dating Profile:
