Many new concepts and production vehicles debuted at the North American International Auto Show, but the most unique was by far the life-size LEGO® Batmobile from Chevrolet! No, you won’t be able to buy it at Galles Chevrolet, but it’s still pretty cool! The Batmobile was inspired by the Batman Speedwagon in “The LEGO® Batman Movie,” which will hit theaters in February. It was built using more than 340,000 LEGO® bricks by LEGO® Master Builders in Enfield, Connecticut. Over the past decade, the Chevrolet Traverse has been offering families style, comfort, and fun for everyone. Now, nearly ten years later, it’s about to get a major makeover. Chevy’s full-size crossover will be redesigned and reengineered for the 2018 model year. “The all-new Traverse blends Chevrolet’s characteristic SUV cues with capability and refinement,” said John Cafaro, executive director, Global Chevrolet Design. “Inside and out, it offers style with a purpose.” Design: The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse will be switching its platform from the Lambda platform to the C1XX platform. As far as exterior styling, the Traverse will channel its sibling, the Chevrolet Equinox. It will feature a larger grille with chrome accents, LED signature lighting, and a Chevy bowtie logo lamp in the rear, which is now round as opposed to square. Performance: The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse will be powered by the 3.6L LGX V6 Engine, with a 2.0L LTG Turbocharged Four-Cylinder Engine also available. Each engine will be paired with the all-new Nine-Speed Automatic Transmission. Features: The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse enhances functionality and convenience with features like hands-free power liftgate and 98.5 cubic feet of cargo space (a segment best). It also comes equipped with several advanced safety features like surround vision, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, front pedestrian braking, forward collision alert, and low and high-speed forward automatic braking. No More Distracted Driving: Distracted driving is a huge issue. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, nearly 431,000 injuries and 3,179 fatalities were caused by distracted driving in 2014. It is bad for your engine and puts you at risk of running out of gas (obviously). Help End Drinking and Driving: Drunk driving kills 36 people and injures 700 people on any given day. The annual Twinkle Light Parade was this past Saturday, December 3rd which means the holiday season is in full swing here in Albuquerque, Los Lunas, Moriarty, and Santa Fe, NM! The parade is Albuquerque’s biggest holiday parade, stretching a mile down Central Ave with over 300,000 lights. This family-friendly spectacular features dozens of floats, marching bands, businesses, firetrucks, and car clubs! This year, Galles Chevrolet donated two vehicles - the Chevrolet Camaro and Chevrolet Silverado - to join the festivities. Check out the pictures below to see the two vehicles dressed up in lights.
