As many of you are already aware, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For the sixth consecutive year, Chevrolet is joining the fight by teaming up with the American Cancer Society and supporting the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks all over the country. They are also launching a social media campaign called #IDriveFor, encouraging fans to share who they drive for using the aforementioned hashtag. For every hashtag on Twitter or Instagram, Chevrolet will donate $5 (up to $500,000). “All across Chevrolet, we are proud to be part of the fight against breast cancer,” said Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet Marketing. “Last year was a record year in Chevrolet helping the American Cancer Society sponsor 84 walks and raising nearly $1.6 million for its programs. With the summer season officially over, weekend getaways and camping trips will be slowing down. However, that does not mean that towing will be slowing down. In fact, Chevy has reported that around 1.2 million work trailers, boats, and RVs are sold in the U.S. each month which means that there is a lot of towing and hauling taking place all year long. As a result, customers are looking for full-size trucks that will have not just the strength, but the technology to get the job done right. As a result, Chevy has partnered with the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) and the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM) in order to develop a more advanced system that will provide customers with a more integrated trailering experience. “Our owners are often towing something, from an RV to construction equipment, that is more valuable than their truck,” said Tim Herrick, General Motors future truck executive chief engineer. “Unequivocally, they tell us that they are looking for a better towing experience. Safer, easier, with more integration between their trailer and their truck.” Through this partnership, Chevy will be increasing communication between the truck and trailer through newly-developed technologies that will provide a higher level of information to the driver in preventing trailer theft or tampering. Chevy is offering customers whole new driving experience with the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV thanks to its available one-pedal driving customization. This new option will allow drivers to experience the maximum total vehicle range that this model has to offer by combining the top level of regenerative braking and sending that energy back to the battery pack of the Bolt EV. Thus, recuperating energy that would have previously been lost during deceleration and putting it back into acceleration. “Bolt EV customers who want an engaging driving experience will love the thrill of one-pedal driving,” said Bolt EV Chief Engineer Josh Tavel. “They will be able to tailor the vehicle to their preferred driving style and maximize their range.” This system will include various levels of braking power that will be available through four different driver-selectable modes. The first driving mode offers the lowest level of regen braking and you must still use the brake pedal in order to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. For the remaining three modes, they each get progressively stronger and the driver will even have the ability to bring the vehicle to a stop without using the brake pedal in a few situations. These four modes include: 1.) Operating in Drive and easing off the accelerator. 2.) Operating in Drive and using the Regen on Demand paddle on the back of the steering wheel. 3.)
