New Engine Takes Lessons From Classic Model

“The new ZZ6 is the ultimate ZZ 350-based crate engine from Chevrolet Performance,” said Jim Campbell, GM U.S. vice president of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports. “After more than six decades, our powertrain engineers continue to refine and update the classic Small Block architecture, adapting new technologies to advance the legacy of the industry’s most adaptable V-8 engine and giving customers new choices from the company that pioneered the concept of high-performance crate engines.” Talk about bringing back the classics. Chevy has recently unleashed the new ZZ6 crate engine which builds on the classic Chevy Small Block 350. This new engine uses Fast Burn cylinder heads and bee-hive style valve springs. These features enable the engine to reach up to 405 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque. Also in use is a hydraulic roller camshaft that will support the engine’s airflow capability, and a forged steel cranks half and quiet high-silicon aluminum pistons. Chevy Helps Entrepreneurs Grow Business

Having reliable transportation is important to any small business, especially one like Payne Pest Management. When Willie Payne and his wife, Kathleen, made the choice to start their own business they knew they would need a dependable truck to get them to their new clients. Naturally, they chose a Chevrolet. “Access to credit is a challenge for many businesses as they launch, and this was true for us in 2006,” said Willie Payne, chairman and CEO, Payne Pest Management. “Since Walter and the Chevrolet commercial vehicle team treated us with respect when we needed it the most, our business partnership continues to grow today.” Payne Pest Management, which started with just three employees and one 2006 Chevy Silverado, has now grown to include no less than 45 Chevy vehicles including the Cruze, Equinox, and Silverado models. “All of our Chevrolet vehicles are dependable, and it’s nice to know that I don’t have to worry about our vehicles performing while on the job,” Payne said. “This allows me to focus on growing my business.”

Chevy Malibu Hits 10-Million Milestone

After 51 years, Chevrolet is celebrating the 10-millionth Malibu customer served. The model has truly become a global staple, popular in not only the United States but all over the world in more than 25 markets. What is most remarkable about this model is the growth that Chevrolet as a brand has experienced since the launch of the Malibu in 1964. At that time, conventional customer service consisted of an owner’s manual and a personal relationship with your dealer. With the introduction of toll-free phone lines in the 1990’s, call centers were able to answer many customer questions. Today, customers all over the world are able to reach out to Chevrolet on social media and in-vehicle technology, such as OnStar at any time, day or night. Through all this growth and change, the Malibu stood strong. “The Chevy Malibu joins an exclusive club of vehicles that have achieved this extraordinary milestone and we acknowledge it today by honoring the common thread linking every one produced: The customer,” said Alan Batey, president, global Chevrolet. “Some people are buying their very first Malibu today and others may have driven a Malibu from a different generation as their first car. It is a car that has resonated with customers for more than half a century.” The 10-millionth Chevy Malibu was sold just as the 2016 model is entering production and once again, it will make history. This newest models promises to be completely restyled, the most technologically advanced model yet and even more fuel efficient. The inclusion of new systems like the Teen Driver system, which was included at the request of consumers, will keep even the youngest drivers safe. If you’d like to learn more about the 2016 Chevy Malibu come into Galles Chevrolet at 1601 Lomas Boulevard NE in Albuquerque, NM or give us a call at (505)814-1123.

Chevrolet Brazil Celebrates 500 Million GM Models Sold

General Motors is celebrating reaching a major milestone with total sales for the company reaching an impressive total of 500 million units. Recently Chevrolet in Brazil decided to say a special thanks to all of their customers by telling the  story of one young woman who was actually born in the back seat of a Chevrolet. It was Friday the 13th a little in the afternoon and Maria de Fátima Moraes Fassi was two weeks away from the birth of her second child when she suddenly felt her contractions begin. Since her husband was at work, she asked her neighbor to drive her to the hospital, but apparently her daughter was in too much of a hurry to wait. By the time they reached a stoplight down the street from her home her neighbor had to help her deliver her bouncing baby girl Lucimara. Her daughter has been hearing this story ever since she was born and has grown to love it as much as her parents who proudly boast how their daughter was born in the back of a Chevy. Check out the video above to hear the full story and stop by Galles Chevrolet anytime to see all of the new models that we have in stock. We are located at 1601 Lomas Blvd. in Albuquerque, NM where we serve customers from Albuquerque, Los Lunas, Moriarty, and Santa Fe, NM.

Chevrolet Tahoe Is The Vehicle Of Choice Amongst K-9 Units

The Chevrolet Tahoe Police Patrol Vehicle (PPV) has been become the most popular models used by K-9 units throughout the country. This model has been designed to give both the officer and his K-9 companion a cool and comfortable vehicle for them to spend the day riding around inside since that is where they spend the majority of their time when on duty. The Tahoe Police Patrol Vehicle (PPV) comes equipped with not only a spacious interior but also an advanced climate control system, and additional heating and cooling vents in the third-row area, which is where the dogs spend most of their time. In these vehicles, the third-row seat is removed in order to allow room for the K-9 unit’s kennel, which means that they are directly in the line of the extra vents. This addition is especially important because heatstroke is a dangerous possibility for animals that are left in hot cars since they are not able to sweat off the heat as easily as humans. “Our K-9s live with our deputies and their families. They are on duty with our deputies every day - responding to calls for service, training, and creating an unbreakable bond,” said Oakland County (Mich.) Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard. “The K-9 Unit is an invaluable tool that serves our community and the Tahoe PPV is an important part of our operation.”
