There was a lot to see this year at the 2015 Woodward Dream Cruise including a long list of things to see were some new 2016 Chevrolet Malibu accessories. There weren’t many Malibu accessories on display, however; those that were, caught a fair amount of attention. Exterior accessories on display included a 19-inch spoked wheels with black pockets that give the car a more dressed up look, along with black grill inserts paired with chrome stripping. Put on a black or white 2016 Malibu, the accessories would compliment the car quite nicely. Currently the only interior accessories on display were all-weather floor mats, although more options could be available in the future.

A list of the “10 Safest Cars You Can Buy” has been released by CBS News, and the 2015 Chevy Sonic was named to the list. In order to be included, the models had to have received high safety ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), or the National Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Additionally, each model on the list comes equipped with an array of standard safety features. The 2015 Chevy Sonic received a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and comes with safety features such as OnStar® Directions & Connections® (6 month trial), Hill Start Assist, Electronic Brake-Force Distribution, Traction Control, and StabiliTrak® Stability Control System. Chevy Volt fans will be excited to learn that the new 2016 model has been redesigned to offer an increased level of efficiency through a new 18.4-kW lithium-ion battery. This battery improves the 2016 Volt’s driving range by around 40 percent, giving this model a pure EV driving range of 53 miles through its extended-range electric propulsion system. Overall, this battery offers an EPA estimate of 106 MPGe, allowing drivers to use their battery for around 90 percent of their driving. When the battery power runs low, drivers can then switch to the Volt’s gas-powered generator, which has a driving range of 420 miles on a full tank. Therefore, this increased EV range means that customers can travel up to 1,000 miles between gas fill-ups. “We listened to our customers,” said Andrew Farah, vehicle chief engineer, “They were very clear when they told us that they wanted more range and a fun driving experience behind the wheel. We are confident that the 2016 Volt delivers both.”

Throughout the month of July, the Chevrolet brand sold a total of 188,790 units according to a new report released by General Motors. Last July the brand’s sales only reached 175,155 units, making the 2015 total a full 7.8 percent higher. So far this year, Chevrolet has sold 1,242,409 units, making their year-to-date total a full 3.3 percent higher than the 1,203,063 units that were sold during the same period in 2014. At this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, car enthusiasts from all over the world gathered together to view some of the most powerful vehicles and watch them tackle the infamous Goodwood hill climb. Mike Trout was named the Most Valuable Player for the 2015 MLB All-Star Game, and after the game chose a Silverado Midnight Edition as a part of the MVP award ceremony at Cincinnati’s Great American Ballpark.   Thanks to his strong performance which included a home run on only the fourth pitch and another run in the 6-3 victory for the American League, he earned the choice between a Silverado Midnight Edition or a sixth-generation Camaro Convertible. Last year when he also won the All-Star MVP, Trout opted for a Corvette Stingray.   “Mike’s on-field performance was All-Star caliber and worthy of one of Chevrolet’s All-Stars,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet, which has been the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball®since 2005. “Chevrolet also encourages future All-Stars through our more than 1,500 dealers who support Chevy Youth Baseball.”   Chevy Youth Baseball, now in its 10th year, has helped gather over $18 million for local teams, put on over 200 clinics for youth throughout the country which involved over 5.2 million people.
