Chevrolet recently decided to take advertising to the next level by combining print and video into a revolutionary mixed magazine spread for the 2015 Chevy Colorado. The advertisement is featured in the May issues of Popular Mechanics and Esquire magazines which will be distributed to around 10,000 monthly subscribers that the brand felt would be most interested in learning more about this all-new model. “We had these awesome digital films that we created for the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado launch and we thought, why not … put video in print,” said Jill Mida, manager-Chevrolet Truck Advertising in an interview with Ad Age. This new marketing technique was seen once before, back in 2009 when a video-in-print ad was run for CBS in an issue of Entertainment Weekly. Even so, this is still an impressive advertising ploy as it reaches consumers on two platforms by putting both print and video together in the same place. Check out the video above to see Chevy’s video-in-print advertisement for the 2015 Colorado and come by and see us here at Galles Chevrolet to learn more about this impressive pickup. We are located at 1601 Lomas Blve NE and serve customers from Albuquerque, Los Lunas, Moriarty and Santa Fe, NM. Chevy Introduces Tasty Spark Color Options
Chevrolet is looking to make the Chevy Spark as desirable as a food craving with the release of new exterior color options inspired by classic foods. The Spark is already available in the delicious looking Salsa Red and Jalapeno Green, both of which will have your mouth watering for a crisp tortilla chip to dip into the mix. Now, however, the brand has added a few more tasty color options to its list of features. These new colors include Kalamata Olive and Toasted Marshmallow. “The first generation Spark’s colors allowed us to explore some fun, creative names,” said Dora Nowicki, marketing manager for the 2016 Spark. “We had an opportunity to continue this trend with the new Spark. When it came time to name new colors for the 2016 model, we brought color samples to the table and challenged our launch team to let their creativity run wild.” Nowicki has stated that while these color names may have your mouth watering that the team actually selected the names based on popular trends rather than their favorite snack foods. The Toasted Marshmallow name was meant to reflect a sense of warmth and maturity of the vehicle, while the rich color of the Kalamata was chosen to offer a expressive color that is more subdued than the vibrant Splash Blue and Lime green color options. History of Chevy Delivery Trucks
For nearly eighty years, Chevrolet has been providing vehicles for businesses with a delivery service in order to help them transport their product. These trucks have helped to shape the delivery industry by providing companies with a vehicle that was specifically designed to handle the transportation of goods, rather than passengers. “Before super markets became commonplace, vendors brought produce and baked goods to the buying public in city neighborhoods and the suburbs that were beginning to sprout up across the country at that time,” said Greg Wallace, manager, General Motors Heritage Center. “The Canopy Express body type was suited for any job that needed easy access to the bed of a truck.” The first mass-produced Chevy delivery truck was the Chevrolet Canopy Pickup which was first introduced back in 1936. This model was a half-ton pickup that came with an optional canvas canopy and side-drop curtains. This model was so popular that for the first time in Chevy history, truck registrations for that year exceeded 200,000 units. The second popular model was unveiled in 1949, the Chevrolet Canopy Express. This model was available in two trim levels, the half-ton 3100 Series and the 1-ton 3800 Series. The larger of the two models offered redesigned features such as waterproof roll-up curtains that protected the products better and a low rear tailgate that allowed easier access for loading and unloading products. The most recent Chevy delivery truck is the Chevrolet City Express, which offers sellers a high quality vehicle in a more convenient size that allows for easier navigating through busy city streets. This model has an estimated payload capacity of 1,500 pounds, 122.7 cubic feet of cargo space and has an EPA estimate of up to 24 MPG city.
Two New Chevys Mounted On Chevrolet Fountain
In honor of the official start of the 2015 Major League Baseball season Chevy recently mounted two new 2015 Chevy models to the top of the Chevrolet Fountain in Comerica park. Each year since Chevy became the official automotive sponsor of the MLB, there have been two new models mounted to the top of the massive fountain at the start of each season. For this year, the brand has selected a Velocity Yellow Corvette Z06 and a Midnight Edition Silverado to be the centerpieces of the incredible structure. The two vehicles were mounted to the fountain using a large crane through a long three-hour process. Fans who visit Comerica Park to watch the Detroit Tigers this season should be sure to look out for these two impressive vehicles mounted sky-high. “As the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball, what better way could Chevrolet show our love of the game than by giving our vehicles a bird’s eye view of our hometown team?” asked Paul Edwards, vice president, Chevrolet marketing. We like to think of these vehicles as the Chevrolet cheering section to drive those centerfield home runs.”

Chevy Celebrated Milestone with 2015 Suburban
The General Motors Arlington Assembly Center recently celebrated the completion of the 10 millionth vehicle to be built at their facility. This historic vehicle was a black 2015 Chevy Suburban, a vehicle that is currently celebrating its own milestone events this year. 2015 marks the 80th anniversary of this model and the launch of the 12th generation of the Suburban line. This is truly an impressive accomplishment that this model has continued to thrive and evolve in order to continue as a popular model’s amongst car buyers. “Times have changed and America has grown beyond all imagination, but the Suburban remains a fixture for those who need the capability of a truck with maximum passenger and cargo space,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevy Trucks marketing director. In honor of this historic achievement for the Suburban, Chevy has released a timeline highlighting all 12 generations, here we have the first six for you. Generation 1 - 1935-1936: The first generation of the Suburban features a two-door body style with a half-ton chassis. This original model was called the Suburban Carryall and was powered by a 60 hp “Stovebolt” inline-six engine. Generation 2 - 1937-1940: Models from this generation were given a new exterior design complete with Art Deco cues. The horsepower capabilities of the Stovebolt also increased to 79 hp. Generation 3 - 1941-1946: As the U.S. entered WWII, the production of many vehicles was decreased and even halted in order to focus efforts into tailoring models for military use. The body style of the Suburban was among the trucks who design created inspiration for military vehicles. Generation 4 - 1947-1955: Following the war, Chevy released a new Suburban with a redesigned body-styling and increased performance capabilities. Models from this line were powered by an inline-six engine with an impressive torque rating of 174 lb.-ft. Generation 5 - 1955-1959: The models for this new generation were redesigned once again, this time giving the model a completely new look with stylist features such as the removal of running boards and the addition of a wraparound windshield. These new “second series” models were powered by the all-new Small Block V-8 engine. This generation also marked the first introduction of the factory-installed four-wheel-drive with the NAPCO-supplied “Powr-Pak” system. Generation 6 - 1960-1966: Models from this generation received more styling updates along with a variety of additional engine options which included 283 and 327-cubic-inch versions of the Small Block V-8 and a 230-inch inline-six. Three Chevy’s Selected As Top Choices for Families
When traveling with a family, things always tend to be trickier due to the amount of extra people and baggage that tends to accompany a larger group. Therefore, Chevy fans with families to transport will be pleased to know that three different Chevy models were recently chosen as Best Family Cars for 2015. The Impala and Taho were selected by KBB.com as part of their list of 15 Best Family Cars of 2015, while the Impala and the Suburban were chosen as 2015 Best Cars for Families by U.S. News & World Report. Both organizations judged the vehicles and evaluated their ability to meet the traveling needs of families based on certain criteria. KBB.com judged the availability of comfort, safety and driving ability along with crash test scores, available features, cargo space, seating adaptability and child safety booster seat. U.S. News & World Report based their evaluation on four main categories that included safety and reliability ratings, availability of family-friendly features, professional automotive reviews and seating and cargo volume. “Chevrolet puts families first, with cars, trucks and SUVs that provide the latest safety technologies and crash protection at a value,” said Alan Batey, senior vice president, Global Chevrolet and president, GM North America. “It’s why Chevrolet was the most-awarded car company in 2014 and is driving toward another year of strong recognition.” All three models come equipped with available Front Automatic Braking and additional crash-avoidance technologies. Additionally, the Tahoe and Suburban offer the GM-patented Safety Alert Seat.
