Next summer the fifth installment of the Transformers franchise will be released, bringing back the classic autobot characters including fan favorite Bumblebee, the yellow Camaro with the black racing stripes. Bumblebee has been one of the main characters in the franchise since the first movie was released back in 2007 and since then he Camaro look has undergone a number of different changes. Now, director Michael Bay has released the image of Bumblebee’s new look and it has us wondering which look have you liked the best? The first time we saw Bumblebee in the first film he was sporting a classic 1975 Camaro look. About halfway through the movie he transformed into the 2006 Camaro concept which later became the look for the fifth-generation Camaro that was released later that year. For the second and third films Bumblebee maintained the fifth-generation look but in the fourth movie, “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” two very different Camaro looks were used for the character, a 1967 Camaro, and an all-new sixth-generation Camaro. The newest version has a more streamline, sportier look that truly reflects the style and feel of the autobots. The 2016 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study has been released and the Chevrolet Camaro has been named Most Dependable in the Midsize Sporty Car Segment for the fourth consecutive year! This marks the 27th year that J.D Power has put out this study and this year’s results were based on responses from 33,560 original owners of 2013 model-year vehicles. The study was conducted from October through December of 2015 during which the owners completed the survey consisting of questions about 177 specific problem the owners had possibly experienced during the previous 12 months. J.D. Power determined dependability by the number of problems experienced by owners per every 100 vehicles. The lower the score a vehicle receives the higher its dependability rating will be. “Receiving this recognition from J.D. Chevrolet sales for the month of May have been announced by General Motors and the brand’s overall monthly total came to 169,331 units. Once again the Silverado was the number one selling vehicle for the brand reaching an impressive 45,035 units which is nearly double the next best-selling model, the Malibu. Additionally, the Colorado experienced its best-ever year-to-date and May retail sales with a total of 9,196 units sold for the month which is a 3.55 percent increase over last May. “We expect key economic indicators like historically low interest rates, rising wages, stable fuel prices and strong employment to continue for the foreseeable future,” said Mustafa Mohatarem, GM’s chief economist.  “These positive economic factors point toward continued strong auto sales as the industry works its way toward another record year of sales.” May Highlights: Sales of the Malibu increased 12.77 percent to 24,202 units Sales of the Tahoe increased 4.37 percent to 7,230 units Sales of the Express increased 9.91 percent to 6,588 units Sales of the Volt increased 17.49 percent to 1,901 units Sales of the Spark increased 29.21 percent to 3,495 units Sales of the Suburban reached 3,997 units Sales of the Trax reached 5,102 units "General Motors U.S. Sales Down 18 Percent To 240,450 Units In May 2016."GM Authority. J.D Power has released their 2016 Vehicle Dependability Study and the Chevy Silverado HD has been named to the stop of the Large Heavy Duty Pickup segment for the second consecutive year. This is the 27th year that J.D Power has released this dependability study, which measures the dependability of vehicles based on the feedback from owners who are in their third year of ownership. For the 2016 study, J.D Power examined the responses of 2013 model-year- vehicles from October - December 2015. The study includes questions that cover 177 different problems within eight major vehicle categories. Overall, this year’s study was based on 33,560 owner responses. “This is the second year in a row that the Silverado HD was the Large Heavy Duty Pickup segment leader. Chevy has launched a new platform called ChevySmallCars.com that will be focusing on the smaller vehicles in their lineup, specifically the Spark, Sonic, and Trax. This new platform will be geared towards targeting a younger audience that are first-time buyers since that is the demographic that generally seems to be most drawn to these smaller vehicles. The site will be filled with content that provides an engaging way to discover more about the Chevy brand. The site is broken up into four main parts Small Talk, Find Your Soulmate, Get Weird, and More Small. “The Spark, Sonic and Trax all target a younger, more socially savvy buyer,” said Steve Majoros, Chevrolet director of cars and crossovers. “When we looked at reasons for purchase, cross consideration and demographics, we found a number of similarities. By aligning these products we can be more strategic and create more engaging, shareable content that speaks directly to this audience.” The “Small Talk” sessions are hosted by Al Madrigal and Funny or Die. These sessions include three videos that each feature the Sonic, Spark, or Trax. The “Sonic Session” will include a performance by up-and-coming artists Kickstand Band which will take place inside the Sonic. The brand uses the uniqueness of the small space and its surroundings to get creative with the performance. In ”Find Your Smallmate” visitors will be able to take a short quiz and their answers will be used to determine which Chevy vehicle fits best with their personality. The “Get Weird” section allows visitors to decorate the Spark, Sonic, or Traz with fun colors and decals. When a Boeing 787 senses an issue with a part on the plane it can alert the ground crews through an in-flight message so that they are aware of the part that needs to be checked before the plane lands. This same concept has now been adopted by Chevrolet to create an innovative new predictive technology that will now be available for OnStar subscribers who own the 2016 Chevy Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Corvette, and Equinox. This technology is a first for the automotive industry and it will be available through OnStar under Proactive Alerts. This system works through continuously monitoring the health of vital vehicle systems such as the motor, fuel pump, and 12-volt battery. If the system detects any potential issues the driver will then be notified by OnStar, thus allowing them to take their vehicle in for service before the issue becomes a full-blown problem and keeping them from being surprised by unexpected repairs. “Chevrolet is already the most awarded car brand in the industry, and Silverado is the most dependable, longest-lasting full-size pickup on the road,” said Steve Holland, chief technologist for Vehicle Health Management at General Motors. “With Proactive Alerts, we now can offer customers even greater peace-of-mind by taking the guesswork out of when to service their vehicle.” The system works by collecting data each time the vehicle is started and then monitoring that data on a continuous basis. The data is then analyzed and it any component is not performing to its expected level the driver will be notified through an in-vehicle message along with a text message or email.
